GIVE YOUR CHILDREN THE CARE &
SUPPORT THEY NEED

ABOUT US

Hello! We are Shiloh and Sara. On the surface, we are two busy moms who bonded over our love for our children and Mexican food. However, after connecting via a social media Hemiplegia group we felt a shared passion to help other stroke families in our area feel less alone by supporting each other, sharing our experiences, and compiling resources we've gathered in an effort to make the path just a little smoother for anyone who finds themselves on a similar journey.

FUTURE IMPACT GOALS

In our dreams, we see Kansas City becoming a beacon for pediatric neurological care in the Midwest in regards to not only assessment, but also rehabilitation and therapy, regardless of severity or length of time from injury. One of our major challenges as parents and in trying to help others, has been the inconsistency of available resources, clarity of treatment plans, therapeutic care and wrap-around services for families, such as counseling, financial guidance and stroke specific care. Getting diagnosed is often challenging enough, and developing and communicating a clear path forward after diagnosis is critical for maximizing outcomes. The lack of collaboration and coordination of care often impedes progress and creates barriers in timely access, and as anyone in the brain space knows, “time is brain,” particularly in young children when neuroplasticity rates are at their optimal levels.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"We were so thankful to be connected with the Children's Stroke Foundation of the Midwest after our one year old had a stroke in 2019. They were so welcoming and connected us with many resources. We not only joined a community that understood what we were going through but found a family!"
